New regulations will be implemented with respect to payments made via UPI, specifically in terms of merchant commissions. Below is a summary of the UPI Rule Update 2026:

• 👤 P2P UPI Transactions: The person-to-person UPI transaction will continue to be free of MDR for the customer.

• 🛍️ Merchant Transactions: The UPI charges will vary from one merchant to another and depend on some other factors.

• 💳 Bigger Merchant Transactions: Certain types of merchants may incur UPI transaction fees higher than the stated transaction amount.

• 🏦 Small Merchant: The qualified small merchants can still avail themselves of zero MDR as per rules applicable to them.

• 💰 Loan, EMI, and Debt payment: Certain payments, such as loans, EMIs, or other debts, may incur UPI transaction fees.

• 🔄 UPI AutoPay and Recurring Mandate: UPI AutoPay and recurring mandates may benefit businesses that were required to make regular payments to others.

• 👨‍💼 Important Note: MDR is usually a charge attributed to the merchant. It should not be taken as an additional charge that would fall directly on the customer.

⚠️ Important Note

The UPI Rule Update 2026 does not entail that there is a limit of ₹2,000 on UPI payments. Customers can pay higher amounts via UPI where allowed by the respective transaction limits, rules of the bank, as well as payment regulations.

💡 What Does the UPI Rule Update 2026 Mean for Loan Payments?

For lenders and financial businesses, the UPI Rule Update 2026 could make digital collection methods an important part of recurring payment management. Businesses may consider UPI AutoPay and mandate-based collections for scheduled EMI payments, subject to applicable charges and payment-provider policies.

For customers considering a FynnEdge personal loan, understanding UPI transaction charges can also help them stay aware of how digital repayments may be processed.

📌 What Customers & Businesses Should Check

Before making or accepting a UPI payment, users should check:

• Applicable UPI transaction charges
• Merchant category and transaction type
• Bank or payment gateway policies
• Whether recurring payments are processed through UPI AutoPay
• Any applicable charges related to loan or EMI collections

The UPI Rule Update 2026 may affect different transaction categories differently, so the actual treatment should be confirmed with the relevant bank, payment gateway, or authorised payment service provider.

For customers managing repayments on a FynnEdge personal loan, checking the applicable payment method and charges in advance can help avoid confusion during EMI payments.

Note: UPI charges and implementation may vary by transaction category, merchant type, bank, payment service provider, and applicable regulatory guidelines. Customers and businesses should verify the latest applicable charges before completing a transaction.
